Lessons & task rules

The Loremaster teaches three chapters. Finish every lesson in the current chapter to open the next. Requests become available after Chapters I and II, when Chapter III opens; you can continue its lessons or help the professions.

There is one current-task slot, shared by Harmony/deed lessons and requests. Choose a task before performing its deed: earlier deeds do not bank progress. A deed makes the task ready; return to the Loremaster to turn it in and receive Renown. The Harmony lesson checks your current Harmony at turn-in. Lore lessons use no task slot: read them and select “I understand”. Finished lessons remain available to reread.

For Gifts of the forest, starting the errand is the deed; you do not have to wait for its return to make the lesson ready. Animal eligibility is explained on the linked pages.

“Set this aside” clears the current task without points. Retaking a lesson means performing its deed again. A set-aside request may appear later. Uneasy players can only read the Harmony reminder; further teaching and requests resume at Guest or Friend Harmony standing. Shunned and Hated players are refused.

Profession requests

The Loremaster offers requests in shuffled rounds of the four professions. Each of the twelve requests can be completed once, with no request cooldown. “Not now” keeps the current offer; accepting it occupies your task slot.

Request handover

Carry deliveries in your main inventory. The required supplies are consumed when you complete a valid handover. The planted-sapling request counts distinct positions planted while active: leave five saplings standing inside the biome. A position still counts after its sapling grows into a Mallorn log; removed saplings stop counting, and replanting one position does not count it twice.

Bring the completed request to an elf of the matching profession. The Loremaster’s offer gives a direction to a nearby trader; he accepts it himself when no living, loaded trader of that profession is within 96 blocks of him. The request form at a trader also lets you choose to trade instead.
